Update #2: I highly recommend Jay Rosen’s We Have No Idea Who’s Right: Criticizing “he said, she said” journalism at NPR. It underscores a common failing in journalism today: stories that are accurate but fall short of journalism’s call to seek the truth and report it.
I also should thank Denise Li, outgoing associate dean of Georgetown’s Master of Professional Studies in Journalism program, for inviting me last year to join the Georgetown faculty. Friday was Denise’s last day (though she’ll be helping with today’s workshop). Denise did a terrific job, as she will whenever she decides on her next venture.
